More than 500 Special Olympics athletes in town for competitions

Hundreds of Special Olympics athletes competed in volleyball and bowling competitions at the State Fall Sports Tournament on Saturday.

Special Olympics Wisconsin provides year-round training and competition opportunities in eighteen different sports.

One of the participants, Cynthia Bently, competed in the volleyball event. She's been involved in Special Olympics for more than thirty years and says she's a team player. "I'm trying my best and it's just about trying your best," she says.

The participants, regardless of win/loss, got a medal or a ribbon.
