Salvation Army ready for annual Christmas Family Feast

MILWAUKEE -- The Salvation Army and radio partner 1290 WMCS are just about ready to serve up the 22nd annual Christmas Family Feast at the Frontier Airlines Center in downtown Milwaukee.

The Christmas Family Feast is set for Christmas Day between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. On the menu will be 4,000 pounds of ham, 3,000 pounds of turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, yams, green beans, 16,000 dinner rolls, and an assortment of desserts and beverages.

Guests will receive complimentary gifts while those supplies last.
In a news release issued Friday morning, Major Roger Ross, Salvation Army Milwaukee County Commander said, “Christmas is a wonderful time of year when we are all reminded of the many blessings we have. However, for an increasing number of people in our community, the holidays are becoming challenging. The economy has taken a toll on so many families and through the Christmas Family Feast we are able to share compassion and offer a real feeling of community.”
8,986 people were served dinner at the Christmas Family Feast in 2010.
