Changes considered for bus service to Southridge Mall

MILWAUKEE -- Bus service at Southridge Mall in Greendale may soon change. That's sparked concern. But FOX6 News found the proposal mirrors what's already happening at Brookfield Square Mall.

The Business Journal reported Southridge Mall could possibly prohibit county buses from dropping people off on the property starting next month.

But Friday, Simon Property Group, which manages Southridge Mall, released this statement...
"We are actively working with the Department of Transportation and feel confident a solution can be found. We don't anticipate disruption to bus service at Southridge Mall."
So why are the changes being considered? Mall management expressed concerns in a recent meeting about pedestrian safety issues created by the buses blocking mall parking lots and drive lanes. Asphalt damage was also a serious consideration.
