50 high school students donate hair to Locks of Love

MILWAUKEE -- 50 Divine Savior Holy Angels High School girls cut off 500 inches of hair on Monday in an assembly organized by student leaders and the directory of campus ministry. It was all part of Locks of Love, and the hair will benefit other girls who have lost their hair for medical reasons.

On hand to speak during Monday's assembly was 10-year-old Kiah Lang, who suffers from alopecia - a medical condition resulting in loss of hair.

This year marked the 12th year of DSHA's Locks of Love assembly. The total value of the hair donated Monday is $28,500!

Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children across the U.S. suffering from long-term medical hair loss.
