73-year-old driver hits two utility poles and a front porch

SHEBOYGAN -- Sheboygan police say a 73-year-old driver hit a two utility poles and a front porch before her car overturned in a driveway just before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say the 73-year-old woman was traveling north in the far right hand lane, and drifted over to the east curb, and jumped the curb and continued traveling northeast on the grass.

Police say the woman struck a wooden utility pole, tearing it out of the ground, and continued driving, and struck a pole for power lines, snapping it in two. Police say the woman continued driving and struck a cement front porch and northwest corner of a home in the 2300 block of S. Taylor Drive that resulted in significant damage damage to the residence.

Police say the vehicle then overturned, landing on its hood in the driveway of the home. The vehicle sustained significant crushed damage, and the driver was transported to the hospital, but is expected to survive.

Police say this crash remains under investigation.
