Man with a gun puts Waukesha hotel on lockdown

WAUKESHA (AP)-- Waukesha police arrested a 32-year-old man from Indiana at the Extended Stay Hotel in Waukesha after he was involved in a domestic violence situation with his wife Saturday night. According to police, the man is an Asian gang member

Police say a woman called police from outside the building, saying her husband had just gone back to their room to get a gun after they got into an argument at a McDonald's restaurant. She told police he intended to shoot her.

Officers escorted the woman and her children from their minivan to safety and evacuated nearby rooms. The suspect, who she described to police as a gang member, surrendered himself and his gun after about 30 minutes.

Police say they plan to recommend he be charged with recklessly endangering safety and domestic disorderly conduct.
