MILWAUKEE — Organizers for the Milwaukee Air & Water Show announced the dates for the 2012 show on the city’s lakefront. The event dates are Saturday, August 11 and Sunday, August 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The water show will begin each day at approximately 9:00 a.m. with the air show beginning around 11:30 a.m. The air show practice date is scheduled for Friday, August 10.
General admission, Center Point reserved and other ticket packages will be available online beginning Wednesday, February 15 at milwaukeeairshow.com.
The air and water show will also be a key element of the U.S. Navy’s celebration of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the “Star Spangled Banner” on Milwaukee’s lakefront this summer August 8-13.
Headliner performers include the Black Diamonds, America’s premier civilian jet demonstration team, U.S. Navy Leapfrogs Parachute Demonstration Team, U.S. Marine MV-22 Osprey Tilt Rotor Demonstration Team, U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet Demonstration Team, U.S. Navy P-3 Orion, a U.S. Air Force B1B bomber, U.S. Coast Guard HH-65C Rescue Helicopter, and many other military aircraft.
This year, the Milwaukee Air & Water Show will be a highlight of the U.S. Navy’s commemoration of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the “Star Spangled Banner.” The War of 1812 is known as “America’s Second War of Independence” against Britain that started over maritime naval disputes.
