Milwaukee police search for armed robbery suspect

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police need your help in their search for a man who robbed a U.S. Bank branch on N. Farwell Avenue.

The suspect entered the bank shortly before 1 p.m. back on January 5th. He approached the teller, passed a demand note, implied he had a weapon, and took off with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black male, 24-34 years old, 6'-6'3" tall with a medium build and medium complexion. He was wearing a black wool baseball-type cap, a black scarf with gray stripes, a black wool coat with gray horizontal stripes, dark pants, dark sunglasses and dark gloves.

This is the first bank robbery in the city of Milwaukee for the year. And police say they have a high clearance rate when it comes to solving bank robberies.

"There was other patrons in the bank, the fact that he acted like a customer and walked up to a teller window and was quiet no one realized he was being robbed at that time," said Milwaukee Police Detective David Anderson. "He did have other people working with him because at least we know that he got into the passenger side of that vehicle and that vehicle took off right away."

If you have information about this case or recognize the man in the picture, you're urged to call the Milwaukee Police Department at 414-935-7360.
