MILWAUKEE — 25-year-old Brian Burnside is accused of a crime against a child, but rather than do the adult thing and serve his full sentence, the Milwaukee man is on the run.
Burnside is accused of violating the terms of his sentence from a sexual assault conviction against a 12-year-old girl.
Prosecutors say on January 11th of 2004, the crimes took place inside a now boarded up home off of 44th Street in Milwaukee. Officials say Burnside and three other men took turns watching and assaulting the pre-teen girl. Investigators say they were trying to recruit the girl as a prostitute.
Detective Phil Carini with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force says Burnside was convicted of two counts of sexual assault of a child and released from prison in 2007, but got in trouble with the law again by violating his probation.
Burnside is known by his alias “Shorty.” He’s described as 5’11” tall, weighing about 175 pounds.
Law enforcement believes he’s in the Milwaukee area. Burnside’s last known address was in the area of 38th and Burleigh.
