Sheriff's Office: 30 drunk drivers arrested on St. Patrick's Day

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says 30 drunk drivers were arrested on St. Patrick's Day.

The sheriff's office and the Southeast Multi-Jurisdictional OWI Task Force conducted an enhanced enforcement deployment targeting drunk drivers Saturday, March 17th.

The St. Patrick's Day OWI enforcement began Saturday at 6:00 a.m., through Sunday, March 18th at 6:00 a.m.

"The ultimate goal of enforcement efforts such as these is not to arrest more drunk drivers, but instead, to educate the public so less people drink and get behind the wheel. However, as our numbers reflect, for those who choose to drive drunk, a warning will not be issued - an arrest will be made," Sheriff David Clarke said.
