Two seriously injured after crash near Hwy. V, 6 1/2 Mile Rd.

CALEDONIA -- Caledonia police are investigating an accident that occurred just after 3:00 Sunday afternoon near Highway V and 6 1/2 Mile Road in the Village of Caledonia.

Officials say a vehicle traveling westbound on 6 1/2 Mile Road failed to yield the right of way to a southbound vehicle on Highway V. The two vehicles collided and came to rest in the front yard of a home on the southwest corner of the intersection. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.

Two people were transported to the hospital via Flight for Life with serious injuries. Two other passengers were transported with non-life-threatening injuries. The condition of those injured is not known at this time.

Police say their investigation is ongoing, and it does not appear that alcohol or speed are factors at this time.
