Woman's body found in Beloit retention pond with trauma signs

BELOIT (AP) -- Beloit police say a woman's body has been found in a water-retention pond for a Walmart parking lot.

The police department says a person walking their dog found the body and reported it Saturday about 2:15 p.m.

Police say there were signs of trauma to the body. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday morning.

The person is described as an adult white female. Police say a tentative identification has been made but her name has not been released.

Police say they don't expect to release any more information until Monday.
