Marquette students go without shoes for a good cause

MILWAUKEE -- Cool weather didn't stop some from going barefoot Tuesday, April 10th around the Marquette University campus as part of a national campaign called "One Day Without Shoes."

About 100 students were expected to go without shoes Tuesday.

The campaign was started by TOMS, a company that sells shoes and donates a pair to needy children for every pair they sell. "It's an easy way to raise awareness. When someone sees someone without shoes, they get really curious, and then they ask and that's what the goal of the event is," Marquette University student and Olympic speed skater Brian Hansen said.
