Wisconsin DOJ will not get involved in Walker John Doe case
Gov. Scott Walker
MADISON — The Wisconsin Department of Justice has announced it will not get involved in the John Doe investigation of former aides to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
Several staffers who worked for Walker while he was Milwaukee’s county executive are accused of campaigning on the county clock.
Defense Attorney Paul Bucher sent a letter to the Department of Justice requesting it investigate the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office for its handling of the case.
A DOJ spokesperson said they don’t have the legal authority to take John Doe investigations away from elected district attorneys.
