Windy City win for the Brewers, 2-1

CHICAGO -- The Brewers managed a mere 5 hits Wednesday afternoon, but that was enough to help them post a 2-1 victory over the Cubs.  Obviously, terrific pitching was also a part of the story.

Yovani Gallardo allowed only a first inning run on a sacrifice fly before seeing his team go ahead in the top of the seventh inning on George Kottaras' two-run homer.  Gallardo finished his outing in the bottom of the frame, before yielding to Francisco Rodriguez for the eighth and John Axford for the ninth.  Those relievers recorded all six of their outs via strikeouts.

The Crew is now 3 for 3 so far this week in Chicago and the series concluded Thursday afternoon. Their starting lineup for the Wednesday game did not include Ryan Braun or Prince Fielder for the first time since April 2007.
