Whitewater police release sketch of sexual assault suspect

WHITEWATER -- Whitewater Police officials are looking for possible witnesses to a sexual assault that occurred early Thursday, April 19th on the west side of Whitewater.

Police say the victim was walking home and was approached by a white male, approximately six feet tall, with a slight belly (unknown weight).

The suspect was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt pulled tight around his face and had a distinct bump on his nose.

The suspect displayed a knife and ordered the victim to the ground.

The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his 30s or 40s with calloused hands, a "beer belly" and short fingernails. Police say he was wearing a plain, baggy, dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with pockets on the front and jeans, with a black belt with silver-colored buckle.

"That's really about all she knew. She could describe a nose that had a large bump or maybe it had been broken in the past," Whitewater Police Captain Brian Uhl said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Whitewater Police Department at (262) 473-0555 or Crimestoppers at (262) 723-2677.
