Franklin firefighters rescue ducklings from sewer

FRANKLIN -- Franklin firefighters proved they are heroes for creatures big and small Tuesday morning, April 24th. They rescued several ducklings from a sewer.

FOX6 News viewer Michele Grandlich was out walking her dog when she saw a mother duck walking with 13 chicks in the street. She took out her camera to capture the sight (see pictures below).

However, the mother duck walked across a sewer grate -- and one by one, the ducklings fell in.

Grandlich called the fire department which responded promptly. They opened up the sewer grate and rescued each of the ducklings.
