Germantown police find body in submerged vehicle

GERMANTOWN -- The Germantown Police Department discovered a body inside a vehicle submerged in a private pond near Holy Hill Road in the Village of Germantown. Police found the body around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 after receiving a report of a submerged vehicle near Holy Hill Road east of Division Road.

The Germantown Fire Department Dive Team was called to the scene to investigate, and found the body inside the vehicle. Officials removed the vehicle and the body was recovered.

Thursday, April 26th police issued a release stating the vehicle's description and plate identified it as registered to missing person Miles Leppla. Leppla was listed as a missing person on October 4th, 2011.

Official identification has not yet been made. An autopsy will be conducted and no information is being released until an autopsy confirms the individual's identity.

Officials say no foul play is expected. Authorities say the incident remains under investigation.
