Crash in Mayville results in OWI arrest

MAYVILLE -- The Mayville Police Department says a two vehicle accident just before 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2nd resulted in an OWI arrest.

Police say one of the vehicles was driven by a 42-year-old Mayville woman and was traveling east bound on Bridge Street, when a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Beaver Damn man traveling west bound on Bridge Street attempted to turn left onto Main Street and collided with the woman's vehicle.

The woman's vehicle then crashed into a business on the corner, causing damage to the building and sidewalk.

Police say the woman had been drinking at the time of the crash and was arrested. The Beaver Dam man was cited for failure to yield while making a left turn.

The Beaver Dam man and one of his passengers suffered minor injuries.
