Meijer could expand to more Milwaukee-area sites

FRANKLIN — Last week, FOX6 News reported Meijer was eying Franklin in its quest to expand into the Milwaukee area. Meijer’s closely watched expansion could also include stores in Pewaukee and Grafton.

The potential new stores would join the Franklin site on Highway 100 and Loomis.

Meijer’s move into the state could also include a huge distribution center that real estate sources say could go up in Racine or Kenosha.

At this point, Meijer has not commented on plans for a distribution center or the possible sites in Pewaukee and Grafton.

Meijer has 197 stores in five midwestern states and employes between 200 and 250 people in each.
