Milwaukee police investigate two shooting incidents

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are investigating two unrelated shootings that happened in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 1st.

The first happened at about 3:45 a.m. just south of Hampton on N. 50th St. A 28-year-old Milwaukee man was shot during an altercation with a known suspect. The victim drove himself to a friend's house after sustaining a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Friends then drove the victim to a hospital where police were called. An arrest has been made and additional suspects are being sought.



The second shooting happened at about 5:30 a.m. near 14th and Greenfield on the city's south side. A 33-year-old Milwaukee man tells police that he was shot during a confrontation with an unknown suspect on the street.  The victim was conveyed to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  There are no suspects in custody.
