Special ceremony honors two fallen officers
KENOSHA — A special ceremony was held Wednesday, May 9th to honor two Wisconsin law enforcement officers who paid the ultimate price.
A memorial service was hosted by the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and the Kenosha Police Department.
The service was held to remember Fond du Lac officer Craig Birkholz, who was shot and killed during a standoff last year, and Marathon County Sheriff’s Deputy Jamison Kampmeyer who died this year while serving as a volunteer firefighter in Abbotsford.
“If we are fortunate enough and God bless’ us enough that we never lose another another officer in the line of duty again, I pray that we still continue to have such a wonderful turnout at these ceremonies celebrating those who have giving their lives in the line of duty,” Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said.
