Four job fairs held in southeast Wisconsin Wednesday

MILWAUKEE -- Some job seekers may have had some luck Wednesday, May 16th! Four different job fairs took place throughout southeastern Wisconsin Wednesday featuring employers looking for workers to fill open positions.

Walmart is looking to hire 75 associates to work at the Neighborhood Market store opening in Milwaukee this summer. Interested employees can apply online by CLICKING HERE.

Generac Power Systems is set to host a job fair from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at its corporate headquarters on Highway 59 in Waukesha. Generac Power Systems is looking for engineers and technicians to fill about 30 positions. CLICK HERE for more information on available positions at Generac.

The 2012 Workforce Development Spring job fair was held at the Waukesha County Technical College in Pewaukee from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Over 60 employers were available -- including the Medical College of Wisconsin, Quad Graphics and the State Government. Karen Beaty-Cameron is with WOW, or Waukesha, Ozaukee and Washington County Workforce Development charged with putting on Wednesday's job fair. "People are still looking, and there's still a need for some good employees. We're guessing by the end of the day between 800 and 900 people coming through the door in four hours," Beaty-Cameron said.

Beaty-Cameron says the fact that there were four different job fairs going on in one day in southeastern Wisconsin is exciting. "It's really encouraging. It's what we've been waiting for for a long time, so we're excited to see it," Beaty-Cameron said.

The Wisconsin State Fair Park hosted a job fair to fill positions needed during the annual run of the fair from August 2-12, 2012. There are a variety of positions that need to be filled. They include ticket sellers, ticket takers, ushers, gate greeters (three-hour shifts on afternoons only) and security staff.

The job fair was scheduled from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Wisconsin Exposition Center at State Fair Park. Applications and more information on the available positions can be found online by CLICKING HERE. Applications can also be obtained and filled out on-site.

The 161st Wisconsin State Fair will take place Thursday, August 2nd through Sunday, August 12th, 2012.
