Packers players hit Milwaukee area during Packers Tailgate Tour
MILWAUKEE — Young fans of the Green Bay Packers got a surprise as the Packers Tailgate Tour hit the Milwaukee area Friday afternoon, May 18th before making a stop at Grafton High School Friday evening.
Six former and current Packers players — Jordy Nelson, Mason Crosby, William Henderson, Charlie Peprah, Larry McCarren and Marco Rivera, visited with students at schools like Indian Hills Elementary in River Hills.
Packers players and team officials also spoke with students at Riverside High School. “I think that they’re at such an impressionable age that hopefully some of the messages that our players share with them can be helpful to them,” Packers CEO Mark Murphy said.
“They’ll listen to us a lot more than some other people just because we play professional sports, so we gotta take advantage of that and use it for the best,” Packers Wide Receiver Jordy Nelson said.
The Packers Tailgate Party will benefit Portal, an organization that helps disabled in Ozaukee County find jobs.
