Motorcyclists take part in first annual Law Enforcement Ride

GREENFIELD -- More than a hundred motorcycles hit the streets on a rainy Saturday morning, May 26th for the first annual Law Enforcement Ride. It was hosted by the House of Harley-Davidson in Greenfield.

Proceeds from the ride benefit "Concerns of Police Survivors," which provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

"We're doing a ride to benefit Concerns of Police Survivors, which really are the family members left behind when officers are killed in the line of duty.  We're very close to the police officers in this part of the country, or the state. We thought it was a good idea for us to try to do something to give back because of the sacrifices they make every day for us," House of Harley-Davidson Owner, John Schaller said.

Riders prepared for a journey to Holy Hill, and they didn't let the rainy weather dampen their spirits.

"I think it's a measure of how people are committed to this cause," Schaller said.

Nearly 200 riders took part in this event, which the House of Harley-Davidson plans to make an annual affair.
