Kenosha Co. deputies search for home invasion suspect

TOWN OF SOMERS -- Kenosha County Sheriff's deputies are on the hunt for a home invasion suspect who could be armed and dangerous Thursday, May 31st.

FOX6 News has learned the armed suspect pushed open the door of a trailer in the Town of Somers around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. He made the 19-year-old woman lie on the floor, and sent the two toddlers she was watching to a bedroom.

The 19-year-old woman was watching her two nephews as their mother and father were at the hospital -- their mother in labor.

"The guy pointed a gun, told me if i didn't get on the floor he was going to kill me and everyone else, my two nephews in the house, and he ransacked my sister's bedroom," said the 19-year-old woman, who did not want to be identified.

The suspect was in the trailer for about a half-hour. He then apparently took some prescription drugs before leaving.

"Scared as hell. I didn't know what was going to happen, hoping everything was going to turn out okay. I was shaking; worried about the boys," said the 19-year-old woman.

Several Kenosha schools nearby were locked down temporarily while deputies searched for the suspect in the moments after the crime. Those schools include Bradford High School, Bullen Middle School and St. Peter's Catholic School. Those schools are once again open.

The suspect is described as a white male, 18 to 25 years old. He had a slim build and shaggy, shoulder-length dark hair. He had a small, silver hand gun and was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and black shoes.

Investigators believe this crime was targeted toward this specific home. It is not believed there is a threat to the greater community at this time.

Anyone with information into this incident is asked to contact the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department.
