20,000 expected to flood Locust Street for annual festival in Riverwest

MILWAUKEE -- Riverwest's annual "Locust Street Festival" was held Sunday, June 10th and was kicked off Sunday morning with the traditional 1.8 mile "Beer Run/Walk" through the streets of Riverwest.

About 20,000 people were expected to flood Locust Street between Holton and Humboldt Sunday for the festival.

Over 20 bands on six outdoor stages played local favorites and a full complement of musical flavors from rock to blues, bluegrass, reggae, acoustic and Latino rhythms.

All up and down the street there was something for everyone, including over 100 artists and craft booths, clowns, balloons and a variety of food and drink.

The Locust Street Festival was expected to close down around 8:00 Sunday night.
