Police looking for suspect, vehicle in hit-and-run that left 5-year-old injured

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are looking for the individual they say ran a red light without his or her lights on, on Saturday night, June 9th -- Striking a five-year-old boy in the 4500 block of N. Teutonia Ave.

Police say the impact was so hard, five-year-old Robert Torres was ripped from the grasp of his uncle, whose hand he was holding while the two were crossing the street. Police say the boy's uncle did not see the car coming as the two began crossing the street.

The incident occurred around 9:15 Saturday night.

Police are looking for a four-door vehicle, possibly a tan GM model. 

The boy was transported to Children’s Hospital with fractures and internal bleeding. He is in critical condition and is expected to survive.

A prayer vigil for Robert Torres is planned for Monday, June 11th in the 2500 block of W. Glendale Ave. at 6:00 p.m.
