14-year-old boy accused of stealing truck, leading police on chase

MANITOWOC — Manitowoc police say a 14-year-old runaway led police on a chase in a stolen truck in Manitowoc Tuesday morning, June 12th.

Police say the initial call was for a reckless driver.

Police say they tried to box the boy in, but he struck a squad car and kept going. Officers then fired on the truck and the boy hit a light pole, ending the chase.

The boy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and then taken into custody.
