IndyCar racers visit Children's Hospital

MILWAUKEE -- IndyCar racers will take to the Milwaukee Mile for IndyFest this weekend, and before they hit the track, they made a pit stop at Children's Hospital Thursday, June 14th.

Mike Conway and Graham Rahl met with children and their parents and showed off their cars. They also signed autographs and gave children hats, but the big thrill was the cars!

Kids were able to sit inside the cars and see what it would be like to drive one of the fast machines!

"It's one thing seeing a race on TV and looking at the cars. They look pretty different when you look at them on TV, compared to seeing them up close," Conway said.

"The Racing for Kids Program has drivers try to get to as many hospitals as we can during the year and see the kids and help put a smile on their face and show them the race cars and just try to give them a fun day out, which is always good. It's nice to be able to put a smile on a kid's face if he's having a rough day," Conway said.

IndyCar drivers hit the track at the Milwaukee Mile Friday and Saturday, June 15th and 16th.
