Brewers Up, Then Down, in 10-9 Loss To Toronto

MILWAUKEE --   The Toronto Blue Jays hit six homers, four off Tyler Thornburg, who was making his Milwaukee Brewers and Major League Baseball debut in Tuesday night's wild, 10-9 victory at Miller Park.

John Axford -- whose wife, Nicole delivered their second son earlier in the day, couldn't protect a 9-8 lead in the top of the ninth. Axford gave up solo shots to Colby Rasmus and Jose Bautista (his 22nd hr.).

Thornburg, who was supposed to pitch in the Southern League's AA All-Star game Tuesday night, was called up as a fill-in for injured Shaun Marcum.

The right hander took a 4-2 lead into the sixth inning, before giving up three consecutive gopher balls.  Milwaukee rode Aramis Ramirez grand slam to a 9-6 lead but couldn't finish the game out.
