Wauwatosa police arrest apparent serial shoplifters

WAUWATOSA — Wauwatosa police arrested two men they suspect are serial shoplifters. This, after an incident that occurred at Mayfair Mall on Thursday, June 21st.

An incident report from the Wauwatosa Police Department indicates the two men admitted to shoplifting items from the Abercrombie & Fitch store at Mayfair Mall. When approaching by the store manager in the parking lot at Mayfair, the suspects threw the items back at him.

When the suspects took off, the store manager noticed the make, model and license plate of the car the suspects used to leave the scene.

A short while later, Wauwatosa police pulled the suspects over.

Inside the suspects’ car, there numerous amount of clothing items — many which were believed to be stolen. In fact, the report says the suspects stated the “merchandise had been taken from Racine, Bayshore, Mayfair, Madison, Chicago and possibly Atlanta.”

One of the suspects admitted fault to the retail theft — and having a “problem with stealing.” The suspect indicated he stole to earn money for his mother who had been evicted.

Each of the suspects tried to pass themselves off with a fake identity. But a system known as Morph Touch positively identified them.
