Some of the best talent Summerfest has to offer is off the main stages

MILWAUKEE — Summerfest draws some huge names to the Big Gig every year. But as plenty of fest-goers can tell you, the not-so-mainstream acts have a draw all their own.

Some festival goers say the artists who take the stage at the Refugee and Tiki Hut stages are just as talented as their counterparts across the way.

“It`s probably the best music you will see at Summerfest, ” said Mathew Haeffeel.

These artists pride themselves in originality and being community-oriented. And the uniqueness of the bands here isn’t just confined to one genre. Whether it’s soul, R&B, groove, funk or punk, it’s all here.
