Hands On With Google's New Tablet

Google's new tablet is cheap and full of features. The Nexus 7 is less than half the price of an iPad, and whether or not its the right choice for you, depends on what your looking for.

There have been plenty of Android tablets before it, but the new Nexus 7 is pure google, packed with all the features you need. It's a great size and easy price, just $200.

Let's start with specs, the Nexus 7 has an HD scratch resistant screen, a front facing camera which is great for video chat, plus WIFI, bluetooth and GPS all built in.

What you don't get is a camera on the back, cellular connectivity , or expandable memory - 8 gigs comes standard.

Out of the box, Nexus 7 is ready to handle all of our entertainment needs. A bunch of movies, tv shows, music magazines and more are preloaded on the Nexus 7 for free.

Nexus 7 includes the latest version of Android called Jelly Bean. It's the fastest and best looking Google operating system yet. Voice commands now rival Siri. Find out who the Prime Minister of Japan is and how your favorite sports team is doing, with ease.

A new feature called Google Now shows you information before you even search for it. It alerts you when you should leave for a meeting based on real-time traffic.

The Nexus 7 puts the current Kindle Fire to shame. For the price you get way more features here, plus access to a much wider selection of Android Apps.

It's a bit tougher to compare it to the iPad. Apple's top seller still has a better selection of accessories and tablet specific apps, but the Nexus appeals to a wider market, due to a killer combintion of its cheap price tag and versatile features.

For those of you that have been holding off on buying an iPad because of the price, this is the first Android tablet that's a real alternative, and I think you'll be happy with it.
