MILWAUKEE — Sheriff’s officials say a wrong-way driver struck another vehicle on U.S. 45 Tuesday afternoon, July 3rd.
A Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a 911 call just after 2:20 p.m. reporting a crash on US-45 southbound near Swan Boulevard.
Officials say a 71-year-old motorist from New Berlin entered US-45 from the northbound off ramp at Watertown Plank Road.
The vehicle continued up the ramp, heading north in the southbound lanes, and struck another vehicle just north of the ramp.
No injuries were sustained by occupants of either vehicle.
Officials say the wrong-way driver was confused and disoriented, and was transported to Froedtert Hospital for evaluation.
The wrong-way driver was issued citations for Driving the Wrong Way on a Divided Highway and Operating a Vehicle Without Insurance. He will be required to retest for his driver’s license.
