911 calls released in Dennis Flemion Wind Lake drowning incident

WIND LAKE -- 911 calls were released Tuesday, July 10th, detailing the panic and horror of 57-year-old Dennis Flemion's loved ones as they tried to save him after he reportedly jumped off a pontoon boat into the lake on Saturday, July 7th, without a life-jacket on. Rescue crews have been searching for Flemion's body for the past four days.

911 Caller: "He jumped off the boat, and he is drowning. We can't find him. He is in Wind Lake, Wisconsin."

Screams and panic took over the call, as first-responders rushed to the scene.

Dispatcher: "When did he go under water?"

911 Caller: "About five minutes ago. He said he was struggling. We tried to get closer to him. We threw him a life preserver and then he went down. Oh my God, I feel like I'm in a dream."

Flemion is from West Allis, and was the founding member of the band, "The Frogs."

Several rescue crews, including teams from Illinois pulled their best resources together to try to locate Flemion. As of Tuesday evening, July 10th, crews still had not located Flemion's body.

Tuesday afternoon, crews requested sonar equipment from Milwaukee police and fire officials.

"Sonar is taking images, which is kind of like your depth finder on a boat, which is shooting images downward in a cone pattern, taking images. Illinois has a side sonar which helps checking shelves,"

Meanwhile, the music community is responding to the tragedy involving "The Frogs" star. Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan tweeted this message Tuesday: "I'm devastated by the loss of my dear friend Dennis Flemion. Words can't explain the sorrow. A tragic loss. Please pray for his family."

"The Frogs" performed with Smashing Pumpkins at the MTV Europe Awards.

Most notably, the other half of "The Frogs" duo, Flemion's brother, Jimmy, repeated similar sentiments on "The Frog's" Facebook page, saying: "Dennis was the most kind, sensitive and giving soul. He, among all, was unquestionably a true, uncompromising artist. My wish for you all is to celebrate his life and in his words, count yer blessings."

Rescue crews hope to locate Flemion's body soon, and bring closure to the family.
