Autopsy performed on body found in Nedweski Park

KENOSHA -- An autopsy was performed on a female body found Monday, July 9th in Kenosha's Nedweski Park as emergency crews responded to a brush fire in the area.

Investigators say the body found is that of a female believed to be in her late teens to early 20s. They are working to identify her, and say autopsy results are pending.

Ken Jeske's house borders Nedweski Park. He watched Monday when firefighters put out the quickly spreading brush fire -- and then wondered why more officials were gathering.

"It's a sad thing to find a body any time, because somebody died a death that wasn't natural," Jeske said Wednesday.

Nedweski Park remained blocked off with police tape Wednesday. Investigators used equipment to sift dirt near the crime scene. Police have also stopped garbage pick up in the neighborhood -- presumably looking for clues in this case.

"This is an anomaly. It's not normal or anything near what is normal in this neighborhood," Jeske said.

The Kenosha Police Department is asking for anyone who was in the area of Nedweski Park during the morning hours of July 9,2012 and observed any activity to please call Crime Stoppers at 262-656-7333 or the City Of Kenosha Police Department Detective Bureau at 262-605-5203 or Detective Josh Hecker at 262-605-5264.
