Family seeks public's help to solve homicide of Justin Kohen

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are seeking any information that could help in solving the homicide of 28-year-old Justin Kohen.

Kohen was fatally stabbed near 16th and Cleveland back on April 3rd.

On Friday, Kohen's parents, Karen and Rick, stepped in front of cameras and microphones to make an emotional plea.

"Someone out there knows something about the murder," said Rick Kohen. "We are asking you to help us find the person responsible."

Justin's family called him J.J. He's survived by his two children. Justin's family says he was a great young man and his actions showed that.

"One of the legacies our son left behind was the fact that he had pre-registered prior to being murdered to be an organ donor, which made us very proud," said Rick Kohen. "J.J. lives on through a heart that he donated.  He donated his heart to a local Milwaukee man who's in his fifties, and it saved his life, his two kidneys to two different women in Ohio."

Justin's father says his son always thought about others. Now, he is asking everyone to think of his son -- and help find who's responsible for his death.

Police say they do not know the exact motive for the homicide at this time. But they suspect it may have been robbery.

If you have information that could help solve this crime, you're urged to call the Milwaukee Police Department.
