Students learn about "green jobs" at Johnson Controls

GLENDALE -- Dozens of Milwaukee teenagers learned about "green jobs" at Johnson Controls' corporate headquarters campus in Glendale Friday.

The students were encouraged to realize that what they're learning could lead to very promising careers.

"We're hoping that some of these kids are really gonna be enthused about some of these careers, so that this might be a pathway to really learn about what kind of education they need, in order to get these jobs," said Jennifer Mattes, Johnson Controls Dir. of Global Public Affairs.

Students agree -- that what they learned on this special day will help them one day start a business.

2012 marks the seventh year the Milwaukee Conservation Leadership Corps has offered its six-week summer jobs program -- which was developed by Johnson Controls. More than 1,700 students take part in the program worldwide.
