Fundraisers planned for three children who lost both parents in motorcycle crash
GERMANTOWN -- 41-year-old Robert Lubow and his wife, 40-year-old Becki Lubow died after crashing their motorcycle outside Slinger on July 10th. They left behind three children and now, the owner of a popular Germantown restaurant is hosting a fundraiser to help the Lubow's children who have lost both parents.
Darren Stamm, owner of Robert's Frozen Custard, did not know Robert and Becki Lubow and has never met their three children. But that is not stopping him from opening up his pocketbook for complete strangers who could use a hand.
On Tuesday, Robert's Frozen Custard on Mequon Road will be giving away 100% of its profits to help the kids who recently lost their parents.
Robert and Becki Lubow were killed after they lost control of their motorcycle outside of Slinger. The couple did not have life insurance.
Stamm is holding an unprecedented fundraiser that will hand over every penny over cost made directly to the family.
"We just want to be able to do something. As a business owner, I have a unique opportunity to be able to reach a lot of people. I think when people want to do something, as a lot of people in this area want to do, giving them a focal point, giving them a place where they can help the kids makes it a lot easier," Stamm said.
The fundraiser will begin at 10:30 a.m. and run through close on Tuesday, July 31st.
The Lubow's family members say they are grateful people are willing to help so soon after the accident. Family has flown in from all over the country to help take care the couple's children.
"They've got three children -- 17, 13 and 6. These kids are left without parents, and so we are trying to figure out what to do next," aunt Jennifer Brady said.
"Just being there for the kids is important. Everyone is coming forward to make sure those kids are happy," grandmother Linda Vindick said.

Two other fundraisers are planned at Fat Charlie's restaurant in Richfield on August 11th, and Sept. 8th at Wisconsin Harley-Davidson in Oconomowoc.
