Vintage car, truck, bike show to benefit Special Olympics

MEQUON -- Brats on the grill, sweet music and vintage cars -- all could be found at the Laura's Donges Bay Clubhouse Car Truck and Bike Show to benefit Special Olympics.

It's a great foundation. This is what it's all about Special Olympics and cars -- people love to come and see them, and it's a great thing,"

Folks who donate their time and money to enter their prized possessions were judged in different classes.

Alex Brown with Unique Classic Car Club says he enjoys doing car shows.

"I feel like I'm helping somebody," Brown said.

Owner Laura Adair, who's been putting the show on with more than a little help from her family and friends for 14 years has a heart for the special cause.

"I'm very child-like myself, and that's what I feel we are. We're all very child-like in a way, and they're good, normal people like we are. They mean well. They are just the most sympathetic and sensitive people like I am, and I like helping. My brother is a teacher, and it kind of runs in our family," Adair said.

Cindy Bentley's been a part of the Special Olympics family for years. She's won awards worldwide, met two presidents and authored a book!

"It takes a village to help people like us, and it costs a lot of money," Bentley said.
