Jose Cuervo pro volleyball tourney wraps up Sunday at Bradford Beach

MILWAUKEE -- The Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Tournament made a stop in Milwaukee this weekend, -- and wraps up Sunday, August 5th.

"Most of our cities are like Southern California, LA, Chicago, Ft. Lauderdale. We had to figure out how can we go to a smaller market, so here we are in Milwaukee," Jose Cuervo brand director Brian Radics said.

This is the second year the tournament has been held in Milwaukee. The tournament attracts elite athletes from across the country. Four men's teams and four women's teams are going head-to-head.  A $60,000 purse is at stake.

Tournament organizers want the volleyball tour to change perceptions about Milwaukee.  They want to make the city a beach volleyball staple.

"The feeling is awesome. It's just like it is at home in Brazil or in Florida," pro beach volleyball player Raquel Ferreira said.

Fans and players flocked to Milwaukee from across the country.

"Our daughter plays. She's on the tour and we just love following her around. The venues are always great and we have such a good time," Rene Youngquist said.

Youngquist and her husband came from Ft. Meyers, Florida to watch their daughter play.

"Anytime Jose Cuervo's got one going, you're going to have a good time," Harvey Youngquist said.

The event is free and goes from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday.  The semi-finals and finals continue through Sunday.
