Man lays posts, wreaths to honor victims of Sikh Temple shooting

OAK CREEK -- A Illinois man has laid out posts with wreaths in honor of the six individuals who lost their lives during Sunday's shooting at the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek.

Greg Zanis placed 15 crosses near Columbine High School after the 1999 massacre and 12 crosses in Colorado for the victims of the Aurora Century 16 theater shooting. Now, he has done the same for the victims of the Sikh Temple shooting.

Zanis has made it a mission to post crosses after a mass tragedy, like the deadly shooting in Oak Creek. Zanis used grape vines and not full crosses in honor of the victims of the Sikh Temple incident.

"This is very different. I mostly put up crosses and sometimes I put up crescents and stars of David, but these are fellow Americans. America is suffering here, and as a nation we are the strongest, biggest nation ever in history, and now we are being plagued by these gunmen," Zanis told FOX6 News over the phone.

Over the years, Zanis has put up 13,000 crosses for those who have died.
