Two-alarm fire damages apartment building on Highland Blvd.

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to the scene of a two-alarm apartment fire early Tuesday morning, August 7th on Highland Boulevard.

Authorities say the fire broke out on the second floor the building shortly after 5 a.m.

Officials say one person sustained injuries as a result of the fire. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. Officials say no other residents were injured, but residents were evacuated.

Fire officials say the building sustained $150,000 of damage and an additional $5,000 in contents.

Fire officials believe the fire was fed by an oxygen tank. The official cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
