Tammy Baldwin challenges GOP Senate winner to three debates

MILWAUKEE -- Democratic challenger Tammy Baldwin is running unopposed in Wisconsin's U.S. Senate primary Tuesday, August 14th, and has challenged the individual whom should win Tuesday's GOP primary to three debates prior to November's general election.

"Republican primary voters will present Wisconsin with a clear choice for the November election. So today I am challenging the winner of the Republican Primary to three statewide debates. This election is a choice, and providing the people of Wisconsin with an honest debate of the issues is what they deserve," Baldwin said in a statement.

Baldwin agreed to accept three debates that would be televised to a statewide audience:

"There are clear differences in this election and voters deserve to have myself and my opponent meet face-to-face to debate the issues. I look forward to the Republican nominee joining me at these three statewide debates," Baldwin said.
