Fire damages vacant home near 16th and Hadley

MILWAUKEE -- Fire crews responded to the scene of a house fire early Wednesday morning, August 15th on the city's north side.

Officials say the fire broke out just before 3 a.m. at a vacant home near N. 16th and Hadley.

A fire department spokesperson says the fire started on the porch and then spread to the rest of the home.

Officials say one firefighter was transported to the hospital with a shoulder strain.

The fire department estimates that there is $15,000 in damage to the home.

The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation by the Milwaukee Fire Department.
