80 marijuana plants recovered from behind Washington Co. home

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Washington County officials are requesting a 42-year-old man be charged after 80 marijuana plants were recovered from behind his residence on Tuesday, August 21st.

Officials say the plants were at various stages of growth between 1” to approximately 5’ in height. Numerous items related to growing were removed from the house -- which had a hidden room apparently used to start growing the marijuana plants.

The investigation started as the result of a tip. The Washington County Sheriff's drug unit was assisted in the investigation by the Kewaskum Police Dept.

Charges have been requested for Manufacturing Marijuana and for Keeper of a Drug House.

The man is not being identified at this time as he is avoiding police and has not yet been taken into custody.

Each plant, if grown to maturity, would normally be expected to yield a minimum of one pound of salable marijuana.
