Packers release FB Jon Hoese and DE Jarius Wynn in roster cuts

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers reduced their active roster to 75 players Monday, August 27th.

The Green Bay Packers placed six players on injured reserve, two on reserve/physically unable to perform and released two players.

The transactions were announced by Ted Thompson.

The Packers placed RB Du’ane Bennett, LB Desmond Bishop, TE DeMarco Cosby, G Ray Dominguez, DE Johnny Jones and WR Shaky Smithson on injured reserve. TE Andrew Quarless and LB Frank Zombo were placed on reserve/physically unable to perform.

Green Bay released FB Jon Hoese and DE Jarius Wynn.

The roster must then be reduced from 75 to 53 players by 8 p.m. on Friday, August 31st.

The Packers play their final preseason game on Thursday night against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Normally, the final roster cuts aren’t due until the Saturday following the conclusion of the last preseason games, but the deadline was moved up a day this year because the NFL Kickoff Opener is being played next Wednesday, Sept. 5, rather than on the traditional Thursday.
