CUDAHY/ST. FRANCIS -- Police in Cudahy and St. Francis are teaming up with outside law enforcement agencies to investigate two attacks on women. Both were out jogging when they say a man attempted to sexually assault them.

One of the attacks happened on the Oak Leaf Trail in Cudahy, and the other about a mile or so up the trail.

Police are looking into whether the same man is behind both attacks.

Officials are asking runners who use the Oak Leaf Trail south of Milwaukee to be on alert following two attacks since August 9th.

In the August 9th attack, the woman told police a man came up behind her just south of the Warnimont Golf Course in Cudahy around 7:00 p.m. The woman said the suspect forced her to the ground but she was able to fend him off. The suspect then fled the scene.

The second attack occurred Friday, August 24th on the trail through Bay View Park in St. Francis. The woman told police a man knocked her to the ground around 9:00 p.m. and tried to assault her. She was able to get free, and the suspect fled.

Since learning of the assaults, Megan Krueger's husband has been tagging along on his bike while she runs.

"I was really worried because we only live a few miles down the road," Megan Krueger said.

"I was just worried about her because she goes on her a lot by herself, so I figured I'd just stick along with her," Robert Krueger said.

Police are investigating whether these attacks are linked.

FOX6 News spotted officers on the trail Monday, August 27th.

Cudahy police released a sketch of a potential suspect. The description is similar in both attacks -- a Hispanic man, between 5'5" and 5'8" tall, with a medium to stocky build, between the ages of 20 and 30.

In the St. Francis attack, the suspect was reportedly wearing a heavy jacket and hat, despite it being warm outside. In the other attack, the suspect was wearing tan cargo shorts, a white shirt and a baseball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call St. Francis police at (414) 481-2232.
