Medical Examiner's report: Sikh temple shooter had alcohol problems

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office released an investigation report on Tuesday, August 28th into the death of Wade Michael Page, the man who killed six Sikh Temple worshippers before shooting himself in Oak Creek on Sunday, August 5th.

In the report, Page's sister, Kimberly Van Buskirk, expressed her concerns over a "change in demeanor" in Wade. She said he'd become more intense and had apparently lost his wit and sense of humor.

Van Buskirk also told investigators Page had a history of alcohol problems and that Page seemed bloated over the past few months.

"There's things we have to do in this country to look at why people commit acts like this and that's a discussion that's gonna be ongoing. I hope I'm involved in that discussion because as someone that's been involved directly, leading a city that's suffered one of these tragedies, I want to be involved in that discussion," Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi said.

Van Buskirk also confirmed Page had moved to Milwaukee before breaking up with his girlfriend, Misty Cook.

Leaders of the Sikh Temple had little to say about the report on Tuesday.

"It doesn't really make any difference. It doesn't change anything. We just feel that his family can live with this too and we feel sorry for them because they're also victims," Balhair Singh Dulai, Sikh Temple Trustee said.

Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards said he personally spoke with Page's uncle, who's an assistant district attorney in Denver. Edwards says the uncle had no idea Page was involved with hate groups.

Toxicology reports are still pending. Page's death has officially been ruled a suicide.
